Stefani was founded in 1950 and was initially concerned with the production of panel and woodworking machine tools.  At the beginning of the 1960s the company opted for a radical change in production policy, becoming the first company in Italy, and one of the first in the world to produce edgebanders. The machinery was immediately catapulted to world fame thanks to its design originality and overall engineering quality.
The policy of research and development, which led to the production of the first single- and double-sided edgebanders, produced the inevitable developments during the years that followed: modular edgebanders and edge trimmers for panel machining, edgebanding and edge trimming lines with automated loading and unloading systems, machining centres for finished panels beginning with large veneered panels.
Entry into the SCM Group in 1992 enabled the company to strengthen its financial structure and gain easier access to international markets. Today, with over 50 years experience in the edgebander and edge trimmer sector, Stefani is one of the world's best known and prestigious trademarks.
