The origins of the SCM GROUP date back to 1932 when partners Nicola Gemmani and Lanfranco Aureli established an agricultural machinery factory and an iron foundry. In 1952 the decision was taken to enter the woodworking sector. The first multipurpose machine engineered by the young Giuseppe Gemmani, having already made it's debut in production on an industrial scale, would soon be successfully distributed worldwide bearing the trademark
"L'invincibile".

Machinery quality, offered at competitive prices owing to manufacture on an industrial scale, played a fundamental role in approaching important distribution channels and setting up a distribution network and agents, first in Italy, then in Europe and finally in 120 countries worldwide.
